As a busy mom of four, I know how hard it is to get dinner on the table when you have a million other things going on. You’re rushing kids to and from activities, helping them with homework, picking up the house and everything else you have going on.
Since we are trying to eat out less, my goal is to always have something on hand that I can throw together in a hurry.
I also have a few tips that make getting dinner on the table a little bit easier.
5 Tips to Getting Dinner On The Table Quick
Meal Plan
I’m a sucker for a good meal plan! Seriously, I meal plan every single week and even have a Trello board dedicated to my meal plan. I list out everything I plan on cooking for the week and include links to any online recipes. I have found that meal planning saves me time and money.
Have A Back-Up Plan
While I love my meal plan and I try really hard to follow it. Sometimes stuff happens and I get too busy to cook. When this happens, I still try my best not to eat out. With a family of six, eating out is expensive! I always try to keep a few things in the freezer as back up dinners.
Recently, I started keeping Ling Ling Fried Rice in the freezer. It’s an extremely easy dinner to get on the table. Ling Ling offers five different flavors:
- Yakitori Chicken
- Yakiniku Beef
- Thai-Style Chicken
- Chinese-Style Vegetable
- Bibimbap Beef
My family has only tried the Thai-Style Chicken since we love Thai food.
Ling Ling prides itself on delivering superior flavor with their infusion cooking method. They infuse each grain of rice with their signature sauces to maximize flavor.
Ling Ling Fried Rice gives families the opportunity to have restaurant quality fried rice without going out to eat.
If you want to try Ling Ling Fried rice, they are offering a $2 off coupon which you can find here. You can find a store that sales Ling Ling Fried Rice using their store locator.
Prep Your Meals
I always tried to take a few minutes before I go to bed, to figure out what we are having for dinner the following day. I take any meat out of the freezer to dethaw and I also chop up any veggies we are using. I do as much as I can the night before to ensure cooking dinner is easy the next day.
Grocery Shop Weekly
Now, I know some people don’t like to shop weekly but I have found that it works best for me. When I shop weekly, I know that I have everything I need for the week. No last minute trips to the store!
Have A Meal Idea Bank
Having a meal idea bank has been great for me and makes meal planning so much easier. I have a Pinterest board that stores all the great recipes I find. I also use the save feature on Facebook when I see one of those food videos. Having a meal idea bank lets me quickly plan my menu.
