I always said I would never have pets…but once I had kids, I quickly gave in! My family now has two cats that my whole family just adores. If you are a pet owner then I’m sure you can relate to wanting the best for your pets.

I’m always on the look out for food products that my cats will enjoy and has the nutrition they need! When I heard about the Purina® Pro Plan® Savor® cat food, I knew we had to give it a try. Purina Pro Plan Savor has an advanced nutrition that helps our cats live a healthier and more active life.

My cats seemed to enjoy the flavor of the food and as a pet owner I liked that the food is high in protein and made with real meat! The Purina Pro Plan Savor doesn’t include any unnecessary ingredients and there is a large selection of different formulas based on your cat’s needs and stage in life.

I was able to pick up a bag at my local PetSmart. There was a huge selection available in the cat area of the store. I went with the Purina Pro Plan Savor Shredded Blend Dry Chicken & Rice

Now that my cats are nice and full with a high-quality dinner, it’s time for a little playtime. Now, I should mention that my cats aren’t very playful. I’m always trying to come up with ways to get them to exercise and get in some playtime. I made this very quick, easy and affordable DIY cat play station. So far my cats have enjoyed checking it out but haven’t spent a lot of time playing with it.

To make this cat play station, you’ll need the following:

  • Pipe cleaner ( 1 package)
  • 1 plastic bin or tray ( I went with a tray but have seen bins used)
  • Two cat toys that come on a long stick.
  • 3 small toy mice
  • 2 larger cat toys of your choice

You can pick up all of the cat toys at your local PetSmart. The plastic tray was purchased at my local WalMart.

The plastic bin I went with has tons of holes in it, making it easy to use the pipe cleaners. I didn’t want to use glue as I was afraid my cats would eat it.

To make the play area, you want to start off by washing the tray with soapy warm water. I wanted to ensure there wasn’t any dirt or residue on the tray.

I took the two cat toys that come on a long stick and placed one on each side of the plastic tray. I secured the toys with the pipe cleaner buy wrapping the pipe cleaner around the stick.

Next, you want to take the small mice and wrap pipe cleaner around the tale of the mice. I then took the other end of the pipe cleaner and wrapped it through the slats of the plastic bin. This allows the mice to stay secure but also gives the cat a way to play with the mice.

I also left a few toys lose in the bin so that I could easily replace the toys with new ones. I’m always giving my cats new toys to try and peak their interest. My cats are pretty lazy at times so I have found that introducing new toys helps get them to play a bit more than normal.
