]]>This craft is fun and teaches your kids how to save money. You can get creative with the patterns and colors used on the piggy banks. Use your kids favorite colors and designs.
What’s Needed
Directions
First, cut each piece of design paper to the size of each container to wrap around it.
Wrap the paper around each container and glue down the edge.
With your scissors, cut a small rectangular hole in each plastic lid, large enough to fit coins into.
Cut small round pieces of the design paper out to fit onto each plastic lid, glue on each lid, and cut through the paper to make an opening where your hole is in the lid.
Now cut 3 rectangle size shapes out of the colored cardstock paper. Make sizes of your choice based on each container size.
Using the letter stickers, spell out the words: Save, Spend, Give. Put one word on each rectangle paper.
Glue each word paper to a container of your choice.
Just snap the lids on and you’re ready to start filling with money! Great way to teach kids money handling skills!

]]>Here’s a tip: Grab flip-flops from Old Navy when they do their $1 flip-flop sale! It’s the perfect time to stock up on flip-flops. Walmart also has great prices on flip flops as well. Keep your eyes peeled as you don’t want to spend too much money on the flip flops.
This is a great opportunity to let you teen get creative with different colors and patterns. The best part is this is a super frugal craft and easy to make.
My daughter is only eight but she still really enjoyed making her own flip-flops! I’m always keeping an eye out for great deals on flip-flops and ribbon. I try to stay stocked up on both so that we are never without the supplies needed to make these adorable ribbon flip flops.

]]>I’ve been asked how old my daughter is, she’s eight and was able to help with this craft. She needed a little help with the glue gun and microwaving the wax but other than that, she was very hands on!
Since doing this project, we have signed up for several courses on Craftsy. It’s been a great mother – daughter bonding experience for us.
You can create your homemade DIY candles to match any holiday and you can even pick which scent you’d like. There are so many scents to choose from.
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Pour your Karo syrup in a small bowl and then begin painting the inside of your mason jar with the Karo syrup. You want to ensure you get the entire inside covered. Once you have the inside covered with the Karo syrup, you pour in your sprinkles. Make sure to get the sides coated up really good.
2. With your glue gun add a small dab of glue to the bottom middle of your mason jar. Then quickly and carefully place the candle wick over the glue. It’s best to press down on the wick for a few seconds to ensure it sticks. You can also use Karo syrup instead of a glue gun.
3. Heat up your wax, I like to microwave the wax in 30-second intervals, stirring each time. Microwave until the wax is completely melted.
4. Once the wax is completely melted, add in your candle scent mixing well, then you’ll pour it into your mason jar. Let sit until the wax is completely firm.
5. Once the wax is firm, you can decorate the outside of the jar. Get creative with your homemade DIY candles.
