My all-time favorite snack is chips and salsa. No joke, I could eat a whole bag of tortilla chips in one sitting as long as I have some good homemade salsa. There really isn’t anything much better than easy home cooked recipes.

This easy salsa recipe has just the right amount of heat! It's a simple recipe to make and is the perfect appetizer for any party!

Easy Salsa Recipe

This salsa recipe is so easy to make and has just enough heat. You can make this salsa to fit your own personal taste. Sometimes I’ll make a few batches with varying heat levels.

Ingredients:

10 medium sized tomatoes

7 jalapenos’s

2 white onions

1 bulb of garlic

1 full bunch of cilantro

1 lime

salt

1/4 tsp. (affiliate link) chipotle chili powder

This easy salsa recipe has just the right amount of heat! It's a simple recipe to make and is the perfect appetizer for any party!

Directions:

1. Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees

2. Cut your tomatoes and onions in half and place on a cookie sheet. Slice your jalapenos in half and scoop out the seeds. I typically leave seeds in three of the jalapenos as my family enjoys some heat. Place the jalapenos on the cookie sheet. Cut the top off your bulb of garlic and place on the cookie sheet. (You’ll probably need 2 cookie sheets)

3. Drizzle oil over your vegetables and sprinkle some salt and pepper over everything. Let the vegatables roast for about 30-minutes or until everything is nice and soft.

4. Set vegetables to the side and let cook for about 15-minutes.

5. Place vegetables in a food processor along with half of the cilantro. Once everything is pureed add in your chipotle chili powder and salt to taste.

6. Mix in fresh chopped cilantro, squeeze some lime juice into the salsa mixture and then refrigerate until you are ready to dig in and enjoy!

Tips: You can also roast your vegetables over an open flame, but I find this takes a little bit longer. Also, if you aren’t sure how hot you like your salsa start out by only leaving the seeds in one jalapeno.

I recently posted a chocolate bacon covered pretzel recipe and it was a huge hit with my family. Then my husband asked me if I could make chocolate mint pretzels and sure enough it was a very easy recipe to make! Easy to make dessert recipes are always at the top of my list.

Easy dessert recipes are a must in a busy household. This chocolate mint pretzel dessert recipe is so easy to make and taste delicious!

Chocolate Mint Pretzels

At a recent trip to Michaels, my husband was browsing the snack aisle while I was looking at all the fun crafting supplies. He loves chocolate covered pretzels and he loves anything mint flavored. He saw a bag of chocolate mint pretzels and picked them up right away. Since that day we haven’t been able to find them again, so I created this very simple recipe to fill his craving.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of pretzels
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. peppermint extract
  • Wax paper

Directions:

Before you even get started get your area fully prepped. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.

Step 1: Put your chocolate chips into a microwave bowl and microwave in 45 second increments, stirring in between until chocolate is melted.

Step 2: Once the chocolate is fully melted stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts. Make sure it’s all combined.

Step 4: Dip each pretzel into the chocolate mixture covering at least half of the pretzel.

Step 5: Place chocolate covered pretzels on your lined baking sheet, garnish with sprinkles and place in the refrigerator for at least 20-minutes to let the chocolate harden up.

I used green sprinkles since St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner but you can change out the color sprinkles to match whatever holiday season we are in at that time.

Pretzels can be stored in the refrigerator for up to ten days. Enjoy!

I have three kids in my home and let me tell you chore time can be a nightmare! All three of my children are pretty far apart in age, yet they have always enjoyed putting up a fight when it comes to doing their chores.

I end up yelling or just downright frustrated. I finally realized that I need to start making chore time fun, even for my teen.

Chores are a hot topic for every family. You have to decide your chores for kids by age, get them to do the chores and decide if you should pay them allowance. Make chore time easier for you and the kids with these 5 tips on making chores fun for kids!

How to Make Chores Fun for Kids

Divide the chores up by what the child enjoys doing. I don’t know about you, but I hate laundry! Getting me to do laundry is like pulling teeth, which is why my husband does 80% of the laundry in our home. Your child might not enjoy washing dishes but maybe he loves to fold laundry and your daughter loves to do dishes. Ask your child what chores he or she enjoys. You might be surprised at what a difference it makes if your child is doing chores he or she enjoys.

Make it a game! Try hiding prizes (stickers, candy, extra-time cards for electronics or even a dollar or two for teens) and as they clean the house they’ll find special little treats. The kids will be so eager to clean the whole house!

Turn on the music and dance! Dancing and listening to good music while cleaning always makes it more fun. Instead of spending an hour fighting with your children about doing chores, turn on some music and make it a cleaning dance party. The kids will have a blast and mom will have a big smile. It’s a win for everyone.

Make sure your children know what you expect. Kids will often put up a fight when it comes to their chores because they truly don’t know how to do what’s being asked of them. Each time you give your child a new chore, make sure you show them how to do the chore properly. If your child knows what they are supposed to do, they’ll put up less of a fight.

I’ve mentioned my chocolate bacon love affair before and it hasn’t slowed down yet. I’m always on the hunt for the best bacon recipes and I think I’ve found yet another!

This should also be on your list of easy to make dessert recipes.

Need an easy dessert recipe? These chocolate bacon pretzels are the perfect dessert recipe and they taste amazing!

Chocolate Bacon Pretzels

I know some of you are scared to try the chocolate bacon mixture, but it’s so good. A lot of sweet with a hint of saltiness is the perfect combo.

I highly suggest purchasing very good bacon, the thick stuff from the butcher works great! I have found that thin inexpensive bacon doesn’t work as well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of pretzels
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 pound of good quality bacon
  • Wax paper

Directions:

Before you even get started get your area fully prepped. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. You’ll also want to get a plate out and line it with paper towels for the bacon.

Step 1: Cook your bacon in a skillet until it’s nice and crispy. Place cooked bacon on a plate that has been lined with a paper towel. Once the oil has been absorbed chop bacon into very small pieces and set aside.

Step 2: Put your chocolate chips into a microwave bowl and microwave in 45 second increments, stirring in between until chocolate is melted.

Step 3: Combine bacon into the bowl of chocolate, reserving some bacon to garnish the pretzels.

Step 4: Dip each pretzel into the chocolate bacon mixture covering at least half of the pretzel.

Step 5: Place chocolate covered pretzels on your lined baking sheet, garnish with bacon and place in the refrigerator for at least 20-minutes to let the chocolate harden up.

Pretzels can be stored in the refrigerator for up to ten days. Enjoy!

Did you know that it’s National Chocolate Mint Day? This is probably my husband’s favorite holiday without even realizing it’s a holiday. He loves all things mint and chocolate, so much that he asked me to come up with a homemade ice cream recipe that used mint chocolate chip.

This homemade ice cream recipe is so easy to make and taste delicious! My family is going to be begging me to make this recipe every day come summertime.

This homemade ice cream recipe is so easy to make! Not to mention it's loaded with mint chocolate chips. YUM!

Mint Chip Homemade Ice Cream Recipe

This ice cream recipe is so easy, but you will need an ice cream maker. I use my Cuisinart ice cream maker. A few months ago my Grandma gave me this ice cream maker and it has been a life changer. Seriously! We make ice cream all the time now.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 1 box Andes Mints

Directions:

Start off with your ice cream bowl fully frozen. I leave my ice cream bowl in the freezer so it’s always ready to go!

In a medium sized mixing bowl combine the milk, sugar and salt with a mixer on low. Make sure the sugar is fully dissolved.

Stir in the heavy cream and the extracts.

At this point, I like to chill my ice cream mixture for a few hours just so it’s nice and cold when it goes into the ice cream maker. (Not required)

Once you are ready to start making your ice cream, turn on the ice cream maker and then slowly pour in your ice cream mixture. Let the ice maker run for about 20-minutes.

While the ice cream maker is whipping up some delicious ice cream chop up your Andes Mints. I like mine chopped up pretty fine. Totally up to you!

Once the ice cream is done, slowly add in the mints and let the ice cream run another couple of minutes so the mints get combined.

Immediately put into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer. I like firmer ice cream so I tend to keep my ice cream in the freezer for at least five hours before serving. Overnight is even better.

I am by know means a great crafter, in fact, it’s my weakest area, but I’m always up for an easy DIY Craft especially when it’s for St. Patrick’s Day.

I had some empty terra cotta pots laying around and figured it would make the perfect “pot of gold”.  Not only was this such an easy craft to make but it was a lot of fun. My six-year-old daughter had a blast helping me.

This is such an easy St. Patrick's Day craft to do with the kids. It will look great filled with candy or flowers on your table.

Easy St. Patrick’s Day Craft

To make your own pot of gold, you’ll only need a handful of supplies. All of the supplies listed below can be found at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or on Amazon.

Supplies:

Easy St. Patrick's Day Craft

Directions:

1. Start off by painting the lip of your pot with the gold paint. You might want to use a smaller brush here so you can edge it out. Let the gold dry for a couple of hours and then paint the rest of the pot black and let dry.

2. Once the paint is dry you’ll take your double-sided lettered stickers and dip them in glitter. I alternated between green, silver and gold glitter. Get creative! Stick the letters on the pot making sure to press hard so that they stick to the outside of the pot.

3. Decorate your pot with Shamrock stickers and you’re done!

You can use this pot to place on your porch with flowers, on your table with candy in it or as a centerpiece for a St. Patrick’s Day party!

Stay tuned as I will be showing you how to take this easy St. Patrick’s Day craft and turn it into a centerpiece next week.
